Welcome to 2025!

How is your View?
We’re not just talking in a metaphorical sense. How’s the actual views in your home?
Something we have noticed in our past projects is the lack of understanding of how easy it can be to maximize your view. (And it’s not just about how big your windows are…)
Of course, big windows can play a huge role in this, but there are many other things that can go into your home plans to really give the views the attention they deserve! From room placement and strategic furniture layouts to even less obvious things like color palettes and lighting choices. Most people enjoy looking out the window and watching the snow fall or the birds chirping, it brings peace and tranquility. The goal is to achieve this inside your home too. Color, pattern, texture, layout, and organization all play a role in how you feel in your home. Lets change the view in your home so you love what you see and can be as restful or productive as you please!
Here are a few tips we’ve been loving:
- Room Placement: Arrange rooms to make the most of natural light and outdoor views, ensuring that key spaces are oriented toward the best scenery.
- Strategic Furniture Layouts: Position furniture to enhance sightlines and create a sense of openness, allowing for uninterrupted views while maximizing functionality. Easy flow is key to feeling at ease in your space
- Color Palettes: Use lighter, neutral tones that reflect light and draw the eye outward, complementing your natural surroundings and enhancing the overall ambiance.
- A few go-to Sherwin Williams options we love for this are:
- Alabaster (SW 7008) – A soft, warm white that brightens spaces while remaining neutral and inviting.
- Accessible Beige (SW 7036) – A warm, versatile beige that complements various décor styles while adding a cozy, natural feel.
- Repose Gray (SW 7015) – A light, subtle gray with soft undertones that creates a serene, airy vibe.
- Eider White (SW 7014) – A light, cool white with a hint of gray, perfect for reflecting light and making spaces feel open.
- Balance (SW 7043) – A light taupe-gray that is sophisticated and calming, ideal for enhancing natural light.
- Sea Salt (SW 6204) – A soft, muted greenish-blue that brings the calm of nature indoors, creating a peaceful, refreshing space.
- Natural Choice (SW 7011) – A soft, creamy beige that feels warm and welcoming while blending with any surroundings.
- Windfresh White (SW 7628) – A fresh, soft white that reflects light beautifully while offering a subtle, neutral background.
- OR if you love color and thrive in bold spaces then don’t be afraid to design around the colors that allow you to feel vibrant and excited in your home. Check out one of our current favorite color palletes for the color lovers out there!
- Lighting Choices: Incorporate lighting that highlights your views, such as strategically placed accent lights or large windows that let in natural sunlight.
- Window Treatments: Choose curtains, blinds, or shades that allow flexibility in blocking or filtering light while still framing your outdoor views. Fun fact: Window treatments and area rugs are key to softening spaces for the ultimate cozy feel.
- Mirrors and Reflective Surfaces: Use mirrors or reflective surfaces to amplify natural light and create the illusion of more space, further emphasizing your views.
- Minimalist Design Elements: Keep spaces uncluttered and simple to allow the views to take center stage, avoiding over-decorating that might distract from the scenery.
- Outdoor Connection: Consider extending your living space outdoors with patios, balconies, or decks that visually and physically connect you with nature.
